TYPES OF ORGANISMS.

An organism is anything that can live on its own.

                                                                     ORGANISMS:

UNICELLULAR ORGANISM:

         One cell.
     Example :
          Bacteria.

MULTICELLULAR  ORGANISM:

              Two or more cells.
               Example:
          Dog, cat, flowers.

UNICELLULAR ORGANISM:

An organism made of one cell.
These organisms are very small
and need to be seen with a microscope.
Example: Bacteria and Unicellular Fungi.

MULTICELLULAR ORGANISM:

An organism made of two or more cells.
These organisms are able to be seen
  with a naked eye.
Example: Humans, Birds, Insects.

ANIMALS AND PLANT CELLS.

There are some similarities and differences in plant cells and animal cells.

Differences:

Animal cells: They not have chloroplast.                                 Plant cells: Only plant cells have chloroplast.
Animal cells dont have cell wall.                                             Plant cells have a cell wall that surrounds and
                                                                                              protect the cell.
Vacuoles are very small.                                                         Vacuoles are much bigger in plant cells.

Similarities:

Both animal cells and plant cells have:

A cell membrane that holds the cell material inside.
Nucleus, hich is the cells control center.
Cytoplasm, nuclear membrane, ribosomes, lysosomes, golgy complex, E.R, etc...

THE ORGANELLES OF THE CELL.

CYTOPLASM:  Refers to the jelly-like material with organelles in it.
MITOCHONDRIA:  The main function is the convertion of food into energy.
RIBOSOMES:  Organelles that help in the synthesis of proteins. Some ribosomes are found in the cytoplasm.
ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM:  It is a network membrane troughout the cytoplasm of the cell. There are 2 types:
ROGH ER:  When ribosomes are attached to the ER.
SMOOTH ER:  When there are no ribosomes attached.
GOLGY COMPLEX:  It is the organelle in the cell that is risponsible for pack and carry proteins from the Endoplasmic Reticulum.
VESICLES AND VACUOLAS:  Both are storage organelles in the cell. They store water, food, waste products and other cellular materials.
LYSOSOMES:  They receive the cellular proteins and lipids that we eat and need digesting.
CILIA:  Are thread-like projections of certain cells.
FLAGELLA:  May extend to the rear of the cell. They function in locomotion.
NUCLEUS:  It is the control center of the cell.It contains the DNA of the cell.
NUCLEOLUS:  Inside the nucleus it is another organelle called nucleolus wich is responsable for making ribosomes.
NUCLEAR PORES:  These are where ribosomes and other materias move in and out of the nucleus.
CELL MEMBRANE:  It surrounds all the cell and it is selectively-permeable controling the movement of subtances in and out of the cell.
CHANNELS/PORES:  Its function is to control the movemento of food and water into the cell.
CHLOROPLAST:  The cell organelle in wich photosynthesis take place.
